OMG!!!!

Okee dokee, my nonexsistant readers, I have just graduated to a red senior belt in Taekwondo! Four months from now, I will be sporting a long, thick, gold encrusted black belt!!! I feel as if my jouney is fially coming to an end! So happy….

Other than this, my life has had very little excitement.

As far as the fanfiction world is concerened, I have found myself delving deeper and deeper in to the darker aspects of Rurouni Kenshin. As much as my friends hate to hear it, I am now convinced that KenshinxKaoru is definately my favorite pairing. Sheelos has been demoted to number two.

Angst has always been my favorite genre, which seems a bit odd for a fireball like me, and now I feel like I can truly depict the sadness and conflicting emotions of the characters I write for. True, writing kk is MUCH more difficult than Sheelos, but I’m up for the challenge!

Seinfeld, Seinfed, seinfeld. Although the once popular TV show has long since been removed from the screen, I can’t help but treasure every minute of ‘the show about nothing’. They just don’t make shows like that anymore, and even in its glory day, Seinfeld was unique. My love of Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramar, has led me to exaust the Seinfeld supply in every movie store located anywhere within the vicinity of (insert city here). Now, having watched and re-watched, I find myself suffering symptomes similar to those of drug addicts in rehab.

Recently, I have found myself haunted and stalked by several infuriating works of what people call music.

One: Makes Me Wonder by Maroon Five. Lets just face it, the song is way too popular. It does have a bit of an addicting chorus line, hence it’s place on my Ipod Shuffle, but I’ve had enough.

‘and it really makes me wonder if I ever gave a **** about you..’

Ugg!!!! Now, it seems like, where ever I go, ‘Makes Me Wonder’, haunts my every move. Just when I think that it couldn’t possibly be played in an organic grocery store, there it is, playing oh-so faintly on the loud speaker. It’s enough to make me yank what’s left of my hair out!

Another song that I cannot stand: Girlfriend, by Avril Lavigne.

I’m a huge avril fan, but even I cannot agree to a song about a teenage slut who wants some guy to dump his chick over her. I really can’t believe that the teen idol would write such a thing.

First it’s tear jerkers like ‘Nobody’s Home” (A personal Fav) and ‘Losing Grip’. Then, we a slight change in mood, where sadness and lonliness turns to joy and confusion. ‘Things I’ll Never Say’ and ‘ Keep Holding On.’

Then, there’s the absolute 180 degree turn for the worst. ‘Girfriend’, ‘I can do better’, ‘Hot’, ect. Oddly enough, these sluttly, degrading songs are placed on the same album as my very favorite track, titled ‘Innocence.’ Kind of Ironic, ne?

The lyrics go from,

‘ Yea, I think you know I’m damn Precious, and hell yea, I’m the ****** ******* princess’

To the sweet,

‘It’s a state of bliss, you think you’re dreaming, it’s the happiness inside that you’re feeling. It’s so beautiul it makes you want to cry. This innocence, is brilliant, I hope that it will stay. This moment, is perfect, please don’t go away.’

indeed, while listening to the latter, I did want to cry.

That said, it’s hard for me to believe that ‘Girlfriend’ topped the charts, giving Avril the number one song in the nation.

All in all, we are directed rather blantantly to the fact that, despite our bravado, the human race, is not actually so brilliant after all.

  1. Not to rain on your parade, but in my [old] school, Ernie Reyes’ West Coast, graduation wasn’t a given. My daughter succeeded after 3rd try only. I tried twice, and came down with injuries both times. The second was a complete ACL tear, which sent me into surgery and out of martial arts for a year. So, do the techniques right, and pay attention to your conditioning, you’ll need it.

  2. yes.. well.. because I’m not all that sure how this blog thing works…. I’ll just reply here…. whatev.

Yes, I know that black belt testing isn’t easy, I’ve seen people fail over and over again. However, without saying that I’m the best in our school, I know that I’m certaintly not the worst. I am kind of nervous though.. despite my bravado… I understand that Taekowndo is about to become much more difficult in many ways… but that doesn’t stop the excitement.

    thanks for the comment!
